Freeze game

This activity, is a great resource to:

• To develop self regulation.

• To promote understanding of symbols: know that a "clever picture".

•  To practise decoding visual messages. 

DEVELOPMENT OF THE ACTIVITY 

1. Use either music or verbal instructions for this game.

To begin, ask the children to move around the room  and when the music stops, the children must freeze.

Play several rounds where the children freeze in any posture they wish.

2. Show a freeze card with a "clever picture" (schematic representation) of a posture. The children must freeze in the posture shown on the card.

The child who freezes first chooses the next freeze card.

 3. Repeat the Freeze Game, but this time the children make an opposite posture to the one shown on the card.
